The nominations are in... who will you vote for?

The Manchester Food and Drink Festival has today announced the shortlists for its MFDF Awards with a record 113 nominees shortlisted over 15 award categories. It's enough to make the mind (and belly) boggle.

We've covered the highs and the lows of the hospitality industry over the last year and the chance to honour the hardworking teams across Manchester's food and drink scene is most welcome. And you can heap praise on your favourites too as every single award is voted for by the public.

Reflecting a turbulent and unpredictable time for the industry, the categories have been carefully considered and created with an absolute passion for the city’s industry at their heart

The Festival team have paused the "mystery shopping" element of the process for this year and are handing over to Greater Manchester’s restaurant-loving public who can vote for their hospitality heroes via the MFDF website or new for this year, the app. The app can be downloaded on the App Store here and Google Play here.

So are your favourites on the list? Or are there some places you've been meaning to try out? Well, give them a whirl before 11.59pm on Monday 20 September, which is when voting closes.

And the nominations are...

The Awards, which will be presented in partnership with Festival headline sponsors Just Eat, will take place, for the first time, at the Ticket Hall at Freight Island on 27 September. This will be an in-person awards ceremony after 2020 went online due to the pandemic. Tickets are on sale here.

The shortlists have been compiled by the MFDF judging panel, made up of the region's leading food and drink critics, writers and experts. Reflecting a turbulent and unpredictable time for the industry, the categories have been carefully considered and created with an absolute passion for the city’s industry at their heart.

The closing date for votes is 11.59pm on Monday 20 September.
