Work for us

Working at Confidentials is pretty special – at least that’s what we think. We work hard but there’s always fun to be had. After all, we’re working with our favourite restaurants, bars, shops, clubs and gyms in the best city in the world.

As it’s a small family business – although we really punch above our weight when it comes to influence on the food and drink scene – it means your hard work is recognised. And rewarded. It also means you really feel a part of something.

Why not take a look and see if we have any roles that suit you?

Commercial Sales Manager

We’re looking for experienced professionals in digital media sales with two to five years in the industry and a successful track record. It’s the perfect next step for someone looking for a new challenge where they can take ownership of their own revenue stream.

You’ll be working in a fast-paced agency environment, so you’ll need to be a pro plate-spinner, able to keep several accounts in the air at once and win at on-the-hoof problem-solving.

You'll be fully responsible for winning new business across the region. Your aim during your first three months is to become an expert on our products, to identify and meet with target customers, and to convert a number of these into fully-paying customers.

We'll give you all the training and support you need to succeed at this but we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and convert potential clients into profit. Confidentials is known and respected by many of the North West's restaurants; they will want to speak with you but you'll need to showcase the benefits of marketing their business across our platforms.

You need to be able to close the deal and understand the importance of urgency in doing so. It’s a hectic environment but we’re looking for candidates who can thrive in situations like this.

Once you've brought a client onboard, you'll be responsible for keeping them with us long-term. You will need to take ownership of your given revenue stream and be consistently meeting and even exceeding your monthly quota, helping to keep clients happy – and to keep the money coming in. You'll advise them on the monthly successes of campaigns and identify further ways we can grow their business, including by up-selling additional media.

Expectations include:

  • Win new business on a mix of warm and cold leads via effective consultative selling
  • Build and manage your own pipeline, identifying quality leads from initial contact through to close, including post-sales aftercare
  • Liaise with clients and account directors to ensure campaign success
  • Produce accurate and timely reports on performance
  • Present our product to prospective clients using agreed sales tools and presentations
  • Manage monthly and quarterly sales targets and achieve revenue from new and repeat sales
  • Attend all fact-finding and proposal meetings, plus events of prospective and existing clients, and internal meetings
  • Contribute towards business initiatives and keep up-to-date with changes in the market, the company and the product

You'll be fully trained and supported by your manager during your six month probation period and beyond. We'll make sure you have all the knowledge and tools you need to make a success of your role.

The future:

If you work hard, you'll have the opportunity to move up into managing your own sales team.

For those with the talent and the work ethic, we reward. A major benefit of working at a family-run business is the opportunity to truly own your role here. Everyone has an equal voice at Confidentials.

Salary:

£25,000 p.a. + uncapped OTE

With hard work, and providing targets are met, OTE is generally £45,000 - £55,000 p.a.

Technical Assistant and Marketing Administrator

We're looking for a new technical assistant and marketing administrator to join our busy team. This role is initially a maternity cover but – for the right person – there would be a permanent job, working alongside our designer and our head of digital sales and affiliate partnerships.

You’ll be the first point of contact for our readers – the voice of Confidentials as it were – so it’s important that you have an excellent telephone manner and plenty of customer service experience.

We will, of course, provide the training and support you need to thrive in your new role but we need someone with:

  • Basic HTML skills and a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience of using spreadsheets in both MS Excel and Google Sheets
  • Competence at using Google Analytics and Ads
  • Knowledge of email marketing including Mail Chimp, Campaign Monitor and Survey Monkey

On a typical day in the office, you’ll work 9am - 5pm providing customer support for the Confidentials App by phone and email, answering queries and dealing with problems. You will also create and schedule marketing campaigns as well as assisting our design team with creating collateral for client marketing campaigns. Other responsibilities will include helping with technical marketing projects such as Google Analytics and researching potential marketing software options. You will also be in charge of creating and updating marketing reports for feedback to clients.

If you’re interested, read the nitty-gritty below for a more detailed overview of what the role entails and see if your skills match up with what we’re looking for. If they do, then get in touch.

There are three main elements to this job – email campaigns, Confidentials app and voucher marketing and monitoring and developing our affiliate partnerships.

Emails

  • You’ll need knowledge of Campaign Monitor or a similar product (MailChimp etc) and basic knowledge or experience of setting up/editing HTML emails as you’ll be responsible for the daily scheduling and set-up of solus emails for both vouchers and clients
  • You’ll be able to design emails from scratch for vouchers and for clients
  • You’ll need to set up the newsletter in the CMS and have enough understanding of HTML to edit it where necessary and you’ll also be responsible for the monthly set-up of our affiliate newsletter
  • You’ll be able to get your head round our database, knowing which lists to use and when and you’ll also have some understanding of GDPR regulations

Vouchers/App

  • Your role will involve daily use of the app notification system which can be used for website, affiliate and vouchers
  • You will be responsible for stock control undertaking a daily check and updating the stock list spreadsheet
  • You will also undertake daily checks of the Voucher inbox and deal with any customer service issues that arise
  • You will set up new clients on the app CMS

Affiliates

  • You will need to understand how to use and track through all of our affiliate networks (AWIN, TradeTracker, Impact, Partnerize, TradeDoubler)
  • You will check-in with all affiliate clients on a monthly basis for any new or exclusive offers for the newsletter
  • You will keep an eye on which clients are performing well and up-sell to high-performing affiliates

Salary:

£21,000 - £24,000 dependent on experience with 20 days holiday
