IT’S fitting that the grand reopening of Manchester stalwart Piccolino should be toasted with great food, buckets of bubbles and a frisky Italian chef.

Celebrity chef Gino D’acampo joined Individual Restaurants boss Steven Walker, Confidential's Gordo, some other folk off the telly, and a melange of Piccolino's most loyal customers at the relaunch of Piccolino Caffé Grande on Thursday 28 April, following a £1.3m refit.

The restaurant, a melody of marble, brass, oak and hues of Riviera blue, has doubled in size, and now boasts: an open grill and seafood kitchen, a pizza kitchen, a shell fish counter, a salumeria (cold meats), a cheese counter, a caviar bar, a patisserie, a juicery, an ice cream counter, a wine wall, two private dining/wine tasting rooms, a private cocktail bar, a badminton court, a Room of Requirement and a Gino.

More from Piccolino here.

Here's all the snaps from the relaunch party (spot the the thumbs-up guy, he's our favourite):
