Brand new bagels, Indian fine dining and, go on then, more ginormous pizza

We've loved seeing all the pictures of people's mams all over social media this week. It's been a beautiful counterpoint to all of the horrible news.

But this column is more buns than mums. Your weekly dose of deliciousness.

Scroll on for our new weekly round-up of full-fat social media content from Manchester's food and drink scene.

Nelly the elephant (sized pizza)

We're just really easily impressed by massive slices of pizza, ok?

Cheese porn: The runny shot

Northern Soul's cheese toasties may not be as enormous as their homeslices', er, slices over at Common but what they don't know about the cheese pull isn't worth knowing, mate. This mac classic has us moz-merised.

Gupshup-per crust

But we also like fancy-schmancy and this amuse-bouche from Gupshup in Hale made us do an impressed face.

Manila thriller

Staying with the spicy, there's just something really lovely about this display of hot sauce and banana ketchup from the brilliant Mama Z.

Trove love

More pretty patterns with these photogenic lemon meringue pies from Trove in Ancoats.

The best doughnuts on the planet?

Ancoats General Store really knows how to pick its independent suppliers. How good do these from Planet Doughnut look?

A bouquet of flours

For those of you that prefer your baked good of the savoury persuasion. We're loving the look of this new bagel and flowers delivery startup from Maya Black and Scarlett Jamieson.

Sausage party

We loved Erst's meal kits back in the halcyon sourdough starter and Couch To 5k days of the first lockdown. We've got our eye on these ones too.

Let's get mezze

We love the cacophony of colours and textures in this gorgeous picture. The Globe in Chorlton is one of many bars and restaurants opening up for outside dining in Manchester on April 12th.

Didn't they do well?

There's always room to doff our hats to Eat Well MCR's sterling work feeding the community. This batch of meals from Hawksmoor is just one example of what they and our local restaurants do week in week out. Impressed, order some food from the Eat Well Marketplace and support their work while also supporting local makers.
