WE'VE just dropped in for the first sneak peek around Milkjam - Manchester's newly opened dessert and milk bar on Oxford Street.
An excitingly sweet mash-up between three of the city’s most eminent pudding pushers – Charlotte ‘Bakeorama’ O’Toole, Claire ‘Ginger’s Comfort Emporium’ Kelsey and Nicki ‘Lush Brownies’ Griffiths – Milkjam will occupy the old hairdressers at no.85 for the next twelve months, boasting a dedicated brownie bar, a giant bubble gum dispenser and a 'party zone' in the basement, where the trio plan to host a series of six course dessert banquets.
And though the three degrees of diabetes have plopped themselves perilously close to Patisserie Valerie next door, they have little fear, confident that such candied creations as the Popcorn Cookie Sandwich, Jaffa Zing brownies and Crack Sauce & Unicorn Poo Soft Scoop will make Milkjam a mecca for Manchester's sugar fiends.
