Manchester’s outpost of the West End venue is set to go ahead
A LICENCE application has confirmed the news Confidential reported last month (see here).
As part of a new Ivy Collection, which the famous London restaurant plans to roll out in cities across the UK, the celebrity hotspot is set to open its first Manchester branch in Spinningfields.
Until now, owners Caprice Holdings have refused to confirm the rumours that they were in talks with developer Allied London about a potential venue in Hardman Square, but a notice was recently spotted in Spinningfields which pinpoints the site as the one replacing The Lawn Club.
The new development, rebranded as The Field (read here) will include The Pavilion, replacing the existing green space next to the nineteen-storey No. 1 Spinningfields office with a four-storey, timber-framed building festooned with trailing, er... Ivy.
The luxury restaurant group has offered no clues as to whether Manchester can expect an Ivy Grill & Brasserie (extensive all-day dining featuring modern British dishes and cocktails) or an Ivy Café (accessible all-day dining, no reservation needed, serving cream teas, cocktails, light bites or more hearty meals, in a friendly environment).
The Pavilion is due for completion in 2017.
