TAMPOPO launches 'What Would You Like Your Name To Be Today?' campaign.
Any customer who visits a Tampopo or East Street restaurant on Sunday 1 April until 1pm and says "Hi I'm (insert a fake name, like Geoff) and I am your friend, can I have a free main course please?"
Confidential hears that this follows the recent attempt from a well-known coffee chain, who shall remain nameless, called Starbucks, asking for customers name. This happened to Confidential's man about town Sleuth and this is what happened - click here, third story down the page.
Anyway Tampopo are promising a free main course for all Tampopo customers and friends if they tell their server their 'name'.
Any customer who visits a Tampopo or East Street restaurant on Sunday 1 April until 1pm and says "Hi I'm (insert a fake name, like Geoff) and I am your friend, can I have a free main course please?" will get a free main course. However, tell them your real name and risk being charged double.
Co-founder of Tampopo, Howard Fox says "We already go out of our way to make our customers feel at home, but this is taking it to another level."
Howard continues "I have used alias names since leaving school. I started with Hamish, but on occasion I also have crossed the gender boundary which certainly livens up my day and that of my server/friend."
Co-founder Schultz Jeffrey adds "We are delighted to launch this campaign, it is something our teams are really looking forward to. They already get on well with a number of customers who go by lively and colourful names. One regular customer/friend just gives his name, rank and serial number and then refuses to answer any other questions. But he seems happy with the food and drink choices we make for him because he keeps coming back."
So let your alter ego out on Sunday and head on over to Tampopo for a freebie - after you Lady Optimus Prime.
