Stock Exchange Hotel’s restaurant announces closure to focus on cocktail bar, Sterling
Stock Market Grill has unfortunately announced it has closed its doors as of today [3 July] after just four months of trading.
The city centre restaurant, which opened in March of this year in the Gary Neville-owned Stock Exchange Hotel, released a statement saying it was closing the restaurant but will continue to serve breakfast and room service for hotel visitors.
The restaurant, opened by renowned cocktail maestros Joe and Daniel Schofield, explained that focus will now be on Sterling, the cocktail bar located in The Vault of the hotel.

In a statement released this morning, Stock Market Grill said: “Stock Exchange Hotel have taken the decision to close the doors to Stock Market Grill, as of 3rd July 23. The restaurant will, however, continue to serve breakfast and in-room dining to all overnight guests.
“In the meantime, the focus will be on Sterling, the premium cocktail bar located in The Vault at the Stock Exchange Hotel. The team are continuing to develop the Sterling concept and it’s offering.”
Confidentials.com reviewed the restaurant back in early April, with editor Jonathan Schofield saying that “The service was fabulous, the mood in the spectacular dining room good but the food was struggling to catch up”.
It clearly never did. The statement went on to explain that Stock Exchange Hotel’s new food and drink offering will be revealed ‘in due course’.
