Manchester’s multi-award winning Italian restaurant group announces plans to open within Selfridges Birmingham
San Carlo, the Manchester-based family-owned Italian restaurant group behind seventeen UK restaurants, including the flagship San Carlo on Manchester’s King Street West and Fumo at 1 St Peter’s Square, has announced plans to open a new Fumo restaurant and bar in Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre.
Located on the fourth floor of the Selfridges store, the venue - due to open in Autumn - will offer stunning views over the iconic Bullring alongside a selection of seasonal and regional Italian small plates, Aperitivo, cocktails and Laurent Perrier champagne.
The restaurant group’s success has been built on providing top quality Italian food using fresh seasonal produce, much of which is flown in especially from markets in Milan and Sicily.
Thanks to the Distefano family’s passion for food and attention to detail, many of their venues including Cicchetti, San Carlo and Fumo have scooped several awards in recent years.
This will be the third collaboration between Selfridges and the San Carlo Group after the success of San Carlo Bottega and Gran Café within Selfridges Exchange Square, Manchester. They also own restaurants in Cheshire, Liverpool, Birmingham, Leeds, Roundhay, Bristol, Leicester and London, as well as restaurants further afield in Qatar, Bahrain and Bangkok.
