THE final planning applications for the curiously branded £750m Circle Square scheme on Oxford Road site have now been submitted - including plans for a 36 storey skyscraper on Charles Street.

A joint venture partnership between Bruntwood and the Select Property Group, the complete proposals for the 2.4m sq ft former BBC site include:

- Nearly 700 apartments across four blocks ranging from fourteen to 36 storeys high

- Two eighteen and fourteen storey office towers

- A ten-storey 1,028 space car park

- A central public park called ‘The Green’

- A 20,000 sq ft concert and events pavilion

- ‘Riverside walkways’ along the River Medlock

- Restaurants, cafes, shops, a gym and a creche

Having purchased the site from Realty Estates in March 2015, the partners secured phase one planning approval for the 5plus Architects-designed scheme in January this year - read here.
