LEEDS hasn't been this excited about a Spanish arrival since Steve Evans started sniffing around 'Boro forward Kike.

Iberica is headed-up by Asturias' celebrated three Michelin-starred chef Nacho Manzano

Award-winning Spanish restaurant group Iberica has confirmed it will launch its seventh restaurant in the city's Grade II-listed Hepper House in Spring, following the success of its debut northern restaurant launched last year in Manchester's Spinningfields - reviewed here.

The group have drafted in Barcelona-based interior designer Lázaro Rosa Violán - one of the world's leading hospitality and retail designers - to transform Hepper House over three floors into a 150 cover restaurant featuring dark wooden interiors, rich blues, an 'incredible' curved staircase and original light wells, while 'remaining sensitive to the building's listed status'.

Iberica is headed-up by Asturias' celebrated three Michelin-starred chef Nacho Manzano, who will bring with him the restaurant's trademark silky slivers of Ibérico ham, caramel-like anchovies and creamy croquettas - see a sample menu here.

In addition to the restaurant Iberica Leeds will also boast its own in-house deli and wine bar, accessible through a separate entrance on the opposite side of the building. The deli will stock over twelve different olive oils, three Ibérico hams, preserved fish, vegetables and one of the largest selections of Spanish cheese and cured meats available in the UK.
