HAVING maintained one the UK’s highest AA merit scores, at 86%, The Midland has just been awarded Manchester's only four Silver Star rating in the new AA scoring system.

The Midland has consistently been praised for its superior standards

An update on the traditional method, the Silver Star is the Simon Cowell of the rating world; casting a critical eye over service, cleanliness and food and drink in search of imperfection. Cementing this daunting reputation is the fact it can only be awarded to hotels with an existing Rosette award for culinary excellence. Unsurprisingly, however, it failed to find fault at The Midland, which has consistently been praised for its superior standards across all areas; ranking it the city’s finest.

The new hospitality ratings will be reflected in both editions of the guide book, AA.com and the mobile apps. Recognising around 4,000 hotels across Britain and Ireland, the Automobile Association is one of the most trusted hospitality awards and rating systems in the UK.
