Salford-based children's cancer research charity, KidsCan, and its patron, scientist, author and TV expert, Jeannette Jackson, has teamed up with a team of celebrities to develop StarBites – revamped alternatives to traditional recipes that will help boost energy, reduce fatigue and support restful sleep in kids and adults alike. Oh and they taste great too.

Jeannette’s traditional meal adaptations included adding kombu (a type of seaweed) to Andre McLean’s soup to increase iron intake and produce boosts of energy. Jeanette also incorporated brown rice to Glynis Barber’s prawn stir fry, which helps the body to manufacture a neurotransmitter called GABA, enabling it to ‘mop up’ cortisol, a hormone released in the body when under stress.
