The city centre was once again caught up in comic book capers this weekend, as thousands of cosplay fans, geeks and gamers turned up for the annual edition of Manchester MCM Comic Con 2017.

Superheroes and villains bonded over t-shirt stands, Disney Princesses flirted with Power Rangers by the chip stand as White Walkers from Game of Thrones mingled with Storm troopers around staged battle scenes.

The convention proved popular with both the exhibitionists and the fantasists as young and old boldly wore their cosplay finest for two days or nerd-vana.
