IT’S taken sixteen years but January will see Busaba finally make the move up north. Since opening on Soho’s Wardour Street in 1999, the chain - which shares its founders with Wagamama's and Hakkasan - has grown to include twelve London branches and will now bring a taste of Buddhist Thailand to Manchester, followed by Liverpool on 29 February.
We look forward to welcoming the people of Manchester to the true taste of Bangkok Thai
The flagship 170-cover restaurant, designed by Russell Sage Studio, will be set over three floors and feature an alfresco terrace, open kitchen and centrepiece staircase.
Diners can expect bestselling dishes like Thai Calamari, stir-fry and curries made with Busaba's secret recipe pastes; developed in association with Michelin Star Chef David Thompson.
Drinks include Thai teas, signature cocktails and exotic beers - along with a simple but selective wine list - whilst the menu overall embodies Busaba’s ‘one-course, minimal fuss’ philosophy.
Busaba CEO Jason Myers said: "We're extremely excited to be bringing the Busaba experience to Manchester…a city that's buzzing with atmosphere and culture.
"Evolving the brand regionally is of huge significance to us, and is important that our new staff be recruited locally; allowing us to create additional job opportunities in the thriving hospitality scene.
