New drinks list goes festive and vegan

DOWN at Wood & Company, there are some new drinks on the menu, perfect for nudging us into the cold and dark season with some warm and comforting flavours.

A Brandy Alexander in the ‘Classic’ list puts white chocolate, biscuit and orange in a glass with rum, which sounds like something Santa might appreciate after his sleigh run

Head below ground to one of Manchester’s best-kept secrets, hidden away behind the frosted “Goods Entrance” door on South King Street between Manchester’s Deansgate and Cross Street. Seek out the staircase and take the steps down to the speakeasy-style surrounds, great for get-togethers, made for meetings and perfect for parties. Complete with a super-long über-classy marble bar, here the top-notch professional staff will serve you craft beer, great wine and the premium cocktails Wood & Company is most well known for.

Under the “Sparkling” section of the newly vamped cocktails menu, the Christingle should get you in a festive mood with its heady mix of mescal, Aperol, orange and clove. Wood And Co Penicillin Resized

Seasonal cheer on the wine front comes from the likes of Riesling for whites and Pinot Noir for reds, while Moosehead and Neck Oil are included on the beer list (although no animals were harmed in the making of these beverages – 90% of the drinks at Wood & Company can claim to be vegan).

Open late from Wednesday to Sunday, it’s the perfect go-to destination for an after-dinner drink or two, or once you’ve finished late-night shopping.
