These local food heroes are doing Sunday roasts to your door
As we adjust to the 'new normal' we're coming to terms with the possibility that it might be a very long time before restaurant and pub dining, as we know it, is given the green light. Depressing as that thought is, a positive is that restaurants have quickly adapted and some are offering dishes delivered to your door that haven't really been an option before. We want to celebrate that.
Here are seven joints across Greater Manchester that are offering a slap up Sunday dinner for delivery or collection.
Where: 152 Heyside, Oldham, OL2 6NB
Delivering?: Yes, locally but contact them to see if they can deliver to you. Collection too
This pub near Oldham is also a farm shop so you can expect the freshest local ingredients in your roast dinner and maybe buy a box of groceries from them for your own home cooking too. At £10 for two courses - a whopping portion - there's already a lot to love, but you can go the full bull and pay an extra £2.50 for two types of meat or £4 for three. Choose from stuffed and rolled pork belly, chicken supreme or a juicy, pink bit of Cheshire rump. Desserts include Victoria sponge.
Who: Coal & Cotton
Where: 44 Leigh Road, Boothstown, Worsley, M28 1LR
Delivering?: Delivery ONLY, free within 5 miles
Over in Worsley, Coal & Cotton have been bringing the glam (and the gin) with their home delivery service which includes cocktails to your door. Locals describe their roast dinner - prices start at £11.95 - as 'the best ever.' There's a choice of chicken, beef, lamb or a vegan beetroot and 'black pudding' Wellington with all the trimmings. Why not add a 'cheeky Vimto' to your order? An extensive wider menu is also available, see Facebook for details.
Where: Cutting Room Square, 41 Blossom St, Ancoats, Manchester M4 6AJ
Delivering?: Not yet
At the moment, Elnecot aren't delivering but offering a pick-up service from their Ancoats restaurant. Michael Clay's roast dinners are the stuff of legends, in Ancoats at least. Choose from 28 day aged ribeye, lemon and thyme chicken, crispy pork belly or a vegan/veggie nut roast with a choice of starters and desserts. Prices start at £12 for a main course. There's also a wider menu which includes some small plates favourites like disco cabbage and a Manchester picnic.
Where: 218 Ramsden Rd, Wardle, Rochdale OL12 9NU
This well-loved local pub in Rochdale is offering perhaps the cheapest delivered Sunday dinners on the lockdown market at £8 for a large one and £5 small with a simple choice of chicken or beef. This is part of a wider delivery menu of home-cooked pub-style dishes which also includes afternoon teas, pies and kids meals.

It's pretty hard to resist their chocolatey desserts and tiramisu too.
