Elsewhere on the starter menu, the mixed vegetable pakora platter is perfect to share while everyone’s favourite is aloo pakora. These deep-fried nuggets of lightly spiced, battered potato are a great match for the house raita.

MAINS AND SIDES

Lahori Murgha (Baby chicken on the bone) £9.95

New to EastZEast, traditional Punjabi Desi Lahori Murgha is packed with aromatic herbs and spices. Inspired by traditional methods of preparation in the Punjab region’s capital city, Lahore, key flavours in this chicken dish include finely chopped ginger and caramelised onion. Order a char grilled roti from the tandoor oven or a buttery, flaky paratha and scoop up the sauce with your hands.

Lamb Chops Shashlik £11.95 (top image)

These juicy chops arrive at your table in a cloud of exotic aromas. Coated in a spiced yoghurt marinade and served on a sizzling platter, each bite is a delight. Other grilled options include tandoori chicken, cod, sea bass or paneer. Be warned though, once you’ve tried one, you’ll want to order them all.

Tiger King Prawn Biryani (King Prawn, rice and egg) £11.95

While biryani is the ultimate comfort food, this version is surprisingly decadent. Each mouthful is different and could include juicy prawns, sweet peas, cardamom, cinnamon or another fresh spice or flavour. It comes with a light vegetable curry, traditional boiled egg and Punjabi raita on the side.

Sarson da Saag (Spinach Karachi) £7.95

EastZEast’s authentic karachi attract customers from across the UK. We love their lamb, mince and chicken curries, while vegetarians will enjoy various takes on peas with paneer, mushrooms and chickpeas. This fresh mustard spinach karachi is garnished with coriander and lemon.
