Alti market’s multi-award winning artisan bakery has launched a virtual baking club

Expert bakers Aidan Monks and Catherine Connor, the duo behind Lovingly Artisan, the multi-award-winning Cumbrian bakery which has a popular stall at Altrincham Market, have now launched an online baking club. They want to share bread related hints and tips to help anyone in lockdown craft the perfect loaf at home.

The Baking Club has been designed as a happy, approachable platform where participants can get practical help and advice from experts offering the knowledge needed to make the perfect loaf.

Aidan and Catherine will explain the science behind sourdough bread baking, giving you a thorough understanding of what is actually happening throughout the process, so you can bake beautiful bread at home. They will provide a valuable insight to help you to learn to make the perfect starter, how to look after it and use it, as well as offering tips for kneading, proving and shaping your homemade dough, the importance of scoring, and how best to store your finished bread.

Lovingly Artisan specialise in baking sourdough loaves using heritage wheat grains, using a starter they created 30 years ago from a handful of organic raisins. Over time it has developed complexities, characteristics and a unique aroma which forms the characteristics of their special artisan daily breads.

The Baking Club is all about bread baking, recipe shares, insider tips and tricks, encouragement and support for each other’s bread baking efforts as well as having some serious bread related fun.
