THE Liars Club wouldn't be around if it wasn't for the Zombie. Created in 1934 by Hollywood restaurateur Don The Beachcomber, this was THE drink. The cocktail that started off the whole Tiki craze.
The cocktail that started off the whole Tiki craze
The Zombie has a lot to answer for but it's also given us some great times. One sip and your mind slips into holiday mode. But beware, beneath those fruity flavours lurks a drink with a knockout punch.
Just like Don The Beachcomber's original recipe (written in code, don't you know), The Liars Club's Zombie recipe is a closely-guarded secret. We can tell you that the big hit comes from 151 overproof Goslings rum, and the tropical sensation comes from a blend of exotic fruit juices. Complexity comes from a mix of other rums, absinthe, velvet falernum and cherry brandy but if we know more than that, we're not telling.
One thing's for sure, this is a drink you have to try.
Take a look and see why...
