AUGUST Bank Holiday weekend means Bolton Food and Drink Festival is here. As proud sponsors of the festival for a second year running, supermarket Aldi will be showcasing a range of specially selected products from exquisite wines to award-winning cheeses.

Visit the Aldi stand to taste delicious free treats including fresh British strawberries smothered in melted chocolate.

A portfolio of Aldi’s wines and spirits will be served at the prestigious Gala Dinner on Friday evening, where guests will enjoy five gourmet courses created by top chefs including Aiden Byrne and Michael Caines.

Then on Saturday, festival goers can join celebrity wine experts Oz Clarke and Kate Goodman on a journey through a range of award-winning Aldi wines in the wine-tasting masterclasses.

If you're heading to the festival, why not visit the Aldi stand, located next to the Celebrity Chef’s marquee. You'll be able to taste delicious free treats including fresh British strawberries smothered in melted chocolate, and a range of Aldi’s award-winning cheeses.

And if you're feeling lucky, take a spin on Aldi’s ‘spin-it-to-win-it’ wheel to be in with a chance of winning a variety of Aldi treats. For the first time this year, Aldi will also be running a festival Snap Chat filter to encourage people to share their experience of the event across social media.

Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain will visit the Aldi marquee at 1.15pm on Sunday to meet and greet the public and sign copies of her new cookbook.

Aldi Regional Managing Director, Ruth Doyle, said: “This year’s festival is set to be even better than last year’s and we’re pleased to be supporting a number of high profile activities as the festival, such as the Gala Dinner and the celebrity wine-tasting masterclasses.

In April, Aldi officially opened its new Regional Distribution Centre in Bolton, which created over 100 extra jobs within the town.

As Aldi continues its expansion across the Bolton area, the distribution centre will support new stores and create even more job opportunities for the people of Bolton.

Bolton Food and Drink Festival takes place from Friday 26 August to Monday 29 August.
