AT CONFIDENTIAL, we like to think we're on the ball, early adopters, that kind of thing. Which is why we're feeling particularly smug that we were Telcom's first customers. They've single-handedly turned the chaos at Confidential HQ into a lean mean internet machine.

We signed up in June 2014 when we first moved from Quay House to Old Granada Studios. Urban myth puts moving house up there with death and divorce when it comes to life's most stressful moments. It's not. Or at least not when Telcom have got your back.
They didn't help us with the move, they masterminded the entire IT move, from Cat 5 cabling to moving the servers. You name it, they did it, really going the extra mile to make sure we were operational. We'd never have another broadband provider.
They worked over the weekend, often into the early hours, so that when we waltzed in on Monday morning, everything was done and dusted with servers all configured and internet running smoothly; everything was good to go. Despite all this, there was no extra charge for weekend work. In fact their whole price is a fraction of that quoted by other internet service providers.
The folks at Telcom are such a nice bunch of people to work with, people who really know the meaning of customer service and go above and beyond what you'd expect, it's no surprise that four months ago, we got them to provide VoIP telephony systems too.
The calls are much cheaper than with traditional analogue land lines and the sound quality is crystal clear. There are so many extra features with this telephone system that we've not even got round to using them all yet.
We think of Telcom as more of an IT solutions company than just an internet service provider – although their fibre-optic broadband is astonishingly fast with download speeds in excess of 30 megabits per second. Whatever the problem, they always come up with a solution for us, such as providing wireless boosters at no extra charge. If the customer's happy, they're happy.
It's also nice to know we're doing business with a fine Manchester company like ourselves rather than a corporate behemoth.
