The third in a series of galleries taking an alternative look at some of the region's best-looking venues
If you haven't been down to the Alderley Edge Hotel for a while, you're in for a big surprise. Following a multi million pound investment at the tail end of 2017, the hotel's bar and restaurant, on the edge of the well-heeled leafy Cheshire suburb, has been transformed from a more traditional fine dining establishment into a bright, welcoming and contemporary venue.
Set under a high glass ceiling with huge windows letting in the sunlight, the airy new restaurant has been inspired by natural surroundings. Plush green curtains and citrus-hued chairs give the room a fresher look, and there's even a beautiful blossom tree in the centre of the room.
Touches of luxury appear in subtle whispers rather than more obvious, flashy ways, while small eccentricities can be found sitting happily among more traditional flourishes - pretty much along the same lines as the inhabitants of the nearby village.
