FANS of Chef Robert Owen Brown’s cooking have had plenty of opportunities to enjoy his food since the closure of The Mark Addy. Over the past year or so, the rustic red head ‘has never been happier’ popping up at food festivals in Manchester and Castlefield, as well as cooking at events and supper clubs at various venues across the region.
I lived in Italy for a short time and have always loved the cuisine
On 27th and 28th April, R.O.B. and his team will be taking over the private dining room at Manchester’s longest standing Italian restaurant, Don Giovanni, for not one but two exclusive nights of dining delights.
Chef Rob says: “The space in Don Giovanni is perfect for this unique experience. I lived in Italy for a short time and have always loved the cuisine, so this sounded like a great opportunity. I really enjoyed creating this menu and am looking forward to cooking it for customers later this month.”
Robert and his team will be serving up a five course Italian-inspired menu for 30 food fans each night, incorporating starters, a fish course, main course, dessert and cheese. Dishes such as ‘Hand-dived scallops with Morecombe Bay shrimp tortellini’ are a perfect example of Owen Brown combining top class Northern ingredients with Italian culinary style.
Adam Karim, owner of Don Giovanni, said: “We wanted to give an extra dimension to the restaurant, with a different experience for customers, but still with our Don Giovanni style, and that’s where using the private dining area came in. Rob’s ideas fitted perfectly with what we had in mind, so for us this is the perfect partnership and we hope the customers enjoy it.”
Tickets cost £45 for five courses with wine pairings with each course. They are on sale now for both Wednesday 27th April and Thursday 28th April and can be bought here:
