IT’S ALREADY Britain’s largest festive toy appeal but Cash for Kids was its biggest yet this Christmas, as football star Rio Ferdinand and the team at his Rosso restaurant donated half a million pounds’ worth of toys. The Key 103 initiative has announced it raised an astonishing £15.5 million, smashing 2015’s total of £13 million by 17%.

Rio’s contribution made a huge difference to Mission Christmas along with each and every person who supported it

With nearly one in three children across the UK living in poverty, for many families 25 December is simply a luxury they can’t afford. Launched in 2012, Cash for Kids Mission Christmas asks people to donate or buy an extra gift to help, with Christmas 2016 seeing 362,694 disadvantaged children benefit from the appeal - up 8% year on year.

Cash for Kids Managing Director Sally Aitchison MBE said: "Rio’s contribution made a huge difference to Mission Christmas along with each and every person who supported it meaning we were able to brighten up the lives of almost 363000 children this Christmas. What a way to end the year”.

Mission Christmas is supported by Foresters Financial and thousands of volunteers who assist with the sorting and distribution of gifts. For more information on how you can help, visit www.cashforkids.uk.com
