We go behind the scenes as the new luxury residential development nears completion
Today (10 July), I ditched the laptop and instead donned steel-toe caps and a hard hat for a behind the scenes peek at One Port Street - an ambitious new luxury development designed to provide high-end accommodation in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
The highly anticipated £195 million development is due to open in February 2026, with the affluent residents’ wants and needs at the forefront of the design. From its very own 2000 sq ft swimming pool and jacuzzi to a state-of-the-art gym and a sleek, sophisticated lobby complete with a firepit, the premium facility developed by Select Property blends opulent and industrial design.
The 477 open-plan apartments, set across three buildings, have been created in partnership with prestigious architects SimsponHaugh and feature exposed textures for a refined, boutique finish. There’s a range of one, two and three bed formats available to choose from, including corner builds with views of the city centre and Ancoats.
An urban garden, which contributes to the development’s 22,000 sq ft of public green space, will provide a leafy communal area while residents that make up the One Port Street community will have an array of high-spec indoor and outdoor working and socialising spaces to make use of.
