From the Seahawk to the Grosvenor Picture Palace... let's all head off down memory lane
They say nostalgia is a thing of the past... not what is used to be...
We bloody love it. And so do you, it seems.
Recently we published a series of photos looking back at Manchester in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, from the demolished slums of Hulme to the construction of the Mancunian Way and the arrival of the Arndale.
They went down a storm, particularly the images of old boozers, which we expected, and old cinemas, which we didn't.
So we got round a table, put our thinking caps on, gathered together a focus group, conducted some market research, hired seven experts, put the kettle on, and thought... 'what if put together a gallery of old Manchester pubs and cinemas from the 1960s to the 1990s?'
Genius. So we did. And here it is...
Don't forget to take a look at the photo galleries from Manchester in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
