Adoption Counts – Could you be one of our adoption success stories?

At Adoption Counts, we have been fitting families together for five years now. We have watched families grow – and grow some more. We have seen children flourish. We are proud to have played a part in so many adoption success stories but the real success comes from the love and energy adoptive parents give.

You don’t have to be ‘perfect’ to adopt a child or children. There is no blueprint for being a parent. Each adoption is as unique as the people being brought together.

We encourage adoption enquiries from across the community in order to meet the needs of children who are looking to find their adoptive family. Age (although you need to be over 21), gender, sexual orientation, race, faith or disability do not matter - all families are different and all adoptive families are different too.

Stuart and Dean always knew they wanted adoption to be their route into parenthood and are now revelling in the way their world has been turned upside down by their daughter in the best possible way, explaining ‘our house became a home the second she walked through that door.’

Melissa and Mike decided to adopt after fertility struggles and now love splashing in puddles and taking trips to the seaside with their two adopted children. They describe their life as parents as ‘truly rewarding’ and are full of praise for their social worker who still provides ‘invaluable post-adoption support’.

Our success stories, families like these, may have come at adoption from different paths but they share a pride in the people their children are becoming and a love that lights them up.

It’s probably best to put it in the words of Hayley who adopted a brother and sister. “Adopting is not a fairy tale…but it is a dream come true if you want to give children the chance of a happy family life.”
