THE North West Food Lovers Festival, the largest event of its kind in the North West, is set to take place at EventCity at the Trafford Centre from 18-20 October.

Adult tickets are just £6 and children under 12 go free. It makes for a very affordable family day out

Andrew-Nutter-300X225For the last four years, the event has been held at Tatton Park. Event organiser Stephen Wundke said, “As the festival has grown, the need for bigger premises to accommodate over 150 exhibitors and 20,000-plus visitors has meant we needed a new home.”

This year's headline chefs are Simon Rimmer from Sunday Brunch and Tim Maddams from the River Cottage, plus leading local names Andrew Nutter, Paul Askew and Dave Mooney.

There will be free cooking classes for budding junior chefs with the Academy of Culinary Arts North West chef, James Holden.

He'll provide classes for up to 600 children across the three days. Said Stephen “These classes have been incredibly popular in the last two years with the children loving the opportunity to cook and try new foods.”

Simon-Rimmer1-199X300And this year, for the first time, the event has teamed up with local wine merchant, Charlie the Wine.

They will host three wine masterclasses a day for those who want to taste, try and learn about the great wines on offer.

These classes are also free to ticket holders but booking is highly recommended as places are limited.

As well as the classes and demos, you can taste, see and buy the finest produce on offer locally, regionally and nationally.

If you love all things food – experiencing new flavours, picking up cooking tips, buying fresh, artisan produce, talking about it, smelling it, eating it – make sure you get a ticket.
