We like the sound of the Rosso terrina starter – a homemade pork and pistachio terrine, though the classic parmigiana di melanzane with its aubergine, fresh basil, mozzarella and tomato is a long-standing favourite.

For mains, you can go traditional with a choice of tender roasts served with fresh market vegetables, or opt for something lighter. The duck egg frittata with goats cheese, parma ham and a micro herb salad sounds delicious.

Desserts include a baked cherry and almond crumb cheesecake, ice cream with fresh coulis, and artisan cheese and crackers.
