FROM 29th September - 10th October, over 200 local Manchester restaurants, bars, book shops and hospitality businesses will come together to throw the city's biggest annual food gathering.

For twelve days, Albert Square will once again be home to the Festival Hub where around 40 street food traders and pop-up restaurants are expected to be cooking up a feast from oodles of noodles to piles of pizza. To help wash it all down, there will also be various bar stands, wine vans and cocktail vendors, as well as a huge beer tent with a programme of entertainment from over 50 bands keen to serenade festival-goers while they slurp.
Across the hub another marquee will house the demo theatre where well-known chefs and cookery writers, from Manchester and further afield, will reveal some recipe secrets to a live audience (and try to shift some signed books.)
Phil Jones, MFDF’s founder said, “It’s incredible to think how far Manchester’s gastronomic offering has come since the first festival almost twenty years ago. The 2016 event will be a celebration of Manchester’s great food scene and the people who make it what it is.
“It’s great to see Manchester continually named in lists of the best places to live in the UK and our world-class food and drink community is a major reason for that.”
The first programme announcements are due to be made over the next fortnight, and will reveal some exciting new venues and partners as well as more details regarding the MFDF Gala Dinner and Awards.
