Window for businesses to nominate themselves is now open ahead of awards in January

With a new date and venue lined up the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards is set to return in January.

The awards, honouring the best and brightest of Greater Manchester’s food and drink scene, will be taking place at New Century Hall on Monday 29 January.

We’re really looking forward to this year’s process and ceremony after another amazing year for Manchester’s hospitality scene

While January might seem a way off, the voting window for businesses to nominate themselves is now open until 6 September.

The shortlist of nominees for the 18 awards will then be announced on 11 September when the public vote and judging period begins, which will see a panel of the city’s hospitality experts decide the winners through a combination of the public votes and mystery shopping.

With past awards bestowed on the likes of Where the Light Gets In, Chorlton’s neighbourhood favourite Bar San Juan and cocktail bar Speak in Code, food and drink businesses across Greater Manchester could join the ranks of some of the city’s best.

Alexa Stratton Powell, Director of MFDF Awards commented: “We are pleased to announce that the awards will be taking place at a new time of year. This decision was made after careful consideration around best timing for the hospitality sector.

“Separating the awards from the festival event itself also allows us to focus on each in greater depth. We’re really looking forward to this year’s process and ceremony after another amazing year for Manchester’s hospitality scene.

“We’re excited to be staging the event at New Century which we know will be an incredible new space to deliver these important awards.''

With Greater Manchester picking up more acclaim with each passing year, the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards is an opportunity to celebrate all that the city’s food and drink businesses have to offer.
