THE River Bar and Restaurant at The Lowry Hotel has launched a new afternoon tea that celebrates all things Manchester.

Alongside traditional finger sandwiches, it features Manchester specialities such as home-baked pies, Eccles cakes, Manchester tart and Vimto jelly.

For every tea sold, the hotel will make a donation to the charity Forever Manchester which aims to improve lives in communities across Greater Manchester.

The Manchester Afternoon Tea is available every day for £22.50 per person.

The Lowry Hotel is making a name for itself for its afternoon teas. It is 'Highly Recommended' by the British Tea Guild, and is one of the few places to offer a Children’s Afternoon Tea. Youngsters are served a selection of finger sandwiches, a child-friendly selection of cakes, plus milk and cookies. It costs £6.50.

They also serve a Champagne Afternoon Tea for £33 which includes a full traditional afternoon tea plus a glass of chilled champagne, a prawn cocktail, and strawberries and cream.
