MOST eateries do vegetarian options nowadays but not many put veggies on an equal standing with meat eaters.

They’re hand-made, fully customisable, and come stuffed with lots of colourful, healthy ingredients.

Pita Pit Manchester, the fresh pita place by Piccadilly Station, is one of those that does. Its vegetarian menu spans to seven different, delicious pitas, causing happy veggie visitors to experience that unfamiliar feeling of being spoilt for choice.

Their most popular veggie pitas are the halloumi and the falafel (and for the undecided, the halloumi-falafel). They’re hand-made, fully customisable, and come stuffed with lots of colourful, healthy ingredients. Alongside your main filling, you’ll find wholesome stuff including spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, black olives, tzatziki, feta cheese, mushrooms and more.

Grill

They’re made-to-order so it’s easy to create a pita suitable for vegans. Options such as the grilled veggie and the hummous go down well if you don’t eat dairy.

And there’s no cross contamination between the meat and the veggie pitas. They’re cooked on separate grills and toasters, and the server won’t have touched anything animal. If they have been drafted over to the dark side to make a bacon breakfast pita, they’ll always change gloves afterwards.

Pita Pit is naturally healthy: they grill - not fry - your meat AND veggies to order right in front of you. All this makes it very tempting for meat eaters as well as meat avoiders (they do lots of choices for carnivores too). And it’s good value with prices starting from just £3.25.

You’ll find Pita Pit just over the footbridge from Piccadilly Station. Service is fast and friendly, and they’re open from breakfast onwards. Go and say hello next time you’re in the mood for something nutritious, tasty and good.
