MANCHESTER Confidential is looking for a copywriter for maternity leave cover, starting in January 2017.

It's a fast-paced, varied job that centres around writing advertising campaigns for restaurants and bars in Manchester. If you love eating out and can write copy that gets people interested in a new place to go or a new promotion, it could be for you.

It's a part-time post on a fixed-term, 13-month contract. The working pattern is all day Monday, half day Tuesday and half day Wednesday but this can be adpated for the right candidate. It's based in our office in Manchester city centre. The pay will be dependent on your experience.

Interested? Here's what we're looking for:

What we need

We're seeking an established copywriter with experience in digital marketing, and ideally, knowledge of the food and drink scene in Manchester.

You'll need to be as good at long copy as you are at short copy – you'll be writing engaging content marketing features as well as one-liners for banner ads.

We measure the results of all our ad campaigns so you'll need to know how to write sharp copy that gets a click-through, then a booking. Experience of writing direct mail is essential.

We're particularly keen to find someone who can write sales copy in the Confidential tone-of-voice. Someone who can produce copy with personality. If you're funny too, that'd be wonderful.

We're looking for a copywriter for this post, not a journalist, but you'll need to be able to write in a journalistic style when needed.

How to apply

Please send your CV, some samples of your work, and an indication of your pay expectations, to georgeh@confidentials.com by Monday 14 November.

No recruitment agencies please.
