Wok to Walk to open in Barton Arcade
Signs have gone up in the window of a unit in Barton Arcade, signalling the arrival of a new international noodle chain.
Wok to Walk began in 2004 as a small restaurant in Amsterdam serving stir-fries chosen by customers from a list of fresh ingredients. Now, it's a global sensation with over 80 outlets all over Europe, America and even as far as India and Saudi Arabia - literally wokking all over the world.
Their success is thanks to their no nonsense “Wok Your Way” concept of stir-fried offerings which can be easily tailored for vegans, vegetarians, carnivores and those on special diets. They claim that you could eat a wok every day for a year and never repeat the combination.
'All bespoke dishes are then cooked in front of customers, with a little dramatic fire and furious tossing'
There is a simple three-step menu; choose a base of rice, noodles or vegetables; add your favourite ingredients from a range of meat, fish, poultry, seafood, tofu, fruit and vegetables all on display; then choose from eight different sauces and some garnishes. All bespoke dishes are then cooked in front of customers, with a little dramatic fire and furious tossing, before being served within five minutes.
Wok to Walk Manchester’s branch has picked a well populated spot on the Deansgate side of Barton Arcade. It should be ready to open within the next couple of months.
