The Trafford Centre store is the brand’s first standalone location in the north
Fitness community and apparel brand Gymshark has today revealed the long-awaited opening date for its first standalone store in the north.
Founded by Ben Francis in 2012, Gymshark has come a long way since its days as a garage gym, becoming one of the UK’s biggest brand success stories with over 20 million customers and community members worldwide.
Opening in Manchester’s Trafford Centre on Saturday 12 July, the new 7,500 sq ft store will sit on Upper Peel Avenue and house all the Gymshark ranges fans of the brand have come to know and love, including Vital and Power, alongside exclusive releases for Gymshark Trafford Centre.
The store encompasses the brand’s trademark look and feel, including mannequins created from real people in the community and changing rooms with bespoke lighting.
Gymshark Trafford Centre will be the brand’s first standalone store in the UK outside of the capital, following on from recent openings of Gymshark Dubai Mall and Gymshark Kalverstraat in Amsterdam.
The store opening continues to nurture the brand’s relationship with the city; one of Gymshark’s first-ever meet-ups was in Manchester, as well as its first Lift event post-COVID.
Hannah Mercer, General Manager, Wholesale & Retail Gymshark, said: “Since we announced that we were going to open a permanent store in Trafford Centre, back in September, I don’t think a day has gone by where someone hasn’t got in touch to ask me WHEN? It’s so great to be now able to reveal the date to such an engaged audience. It’s such an amazing time to be opening in the City, as it seems to be on absolute fire right now, “Whether it’s the economic boom, the thriving fitness scene or even a couple of brothers coming back together, it is undoubtedly the place to be. I can’t wait for that ribbon to be cut.”
