Top chefs will join Manchester House's Nat Tofan for a one-off charity evening
It’s been two years since Manchester hospitality titan Tim Bacon passed away, following a long and brave battle against cancer, but his legacy and memory endure not only in Living Ventures, the bar and restaurant empire he built with friend and business partner Jeremy Roberts (read Jeremy's dedication to Tim here), but also in the foundation created in his honour.
The Tim Bacon Foundation aims to support the people and charities which helped him live with the disease for the best part of two decades, including The Christie and Maggie's Centres.
The first appeal by the foundation raised a whopping £500,000, which was put towards establishing the UK's first Proton Beam Therapy centre at The Christie in Manchester.
The foundation's second appeal is now well underway, and will see continued support for Maggie's, as well as children's cancer research charity, Kidscan.
One of the headline events of the appeal is the upcoming Chef's Dinner at Manchester House, which will see four top chefs come together with Liberty Wines for a very special one-off dining experience on Thursday 7June.
Hosted by Manchester House chef Nat Tofan at the award-winning Spinningfields fine-dining restaurant, the night will see Michelin-starred chef Tony Parkin (The West House), three-AA Rosette chef Steven Smith (The Freemasons at Wiswell) and National Restaurant Awards 'Chef of the Year' nominee, Gary Usher (Sticky Walnut, Hispi), cook a six course banquet for guests, with each course paired with fine wines by Liberty.
Tofan said: "We’re aiming for this Chef’s Dinner to be a real meeting of minds. In Gary, Steven and Tony, we’ve got three top top chefs who are really on their game right now producing some of the finest food around, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what we can do when we get together."
Jeremy Roberts said: "Tim loved his food, as do I, which is one of the main reasons we set up Manchester House. To celebrate some of the best young talent is really something he would have applauded."
