WHAT better way to celebrate Manchester’s vivacious new Brazilian restaurant than dressing Happy Mondays’ Rowetta up like the iconic Carmen Miranda and have her sing Samba while guests sip Caipirinhas and lay in dangling hammocks?
Cabana Brasil has promised to keep the party atmosphere going...
Cabana Brasil, the latest London import to open up in the burgeoning Corn Exchange food hall, welcomed guests to its ninth and largest branch outside of the capital with all the vigour and colour of the Rio carnival.
Bejewelled samba dancers encouraged guests to shimmy to the samba-thumping soundtrack, as the brazilian barbecue party was complimented with a sample selection of Cabana's spice-rich menu including big Brazilian barbecued meats, skewered, lathered in their signiture malugueta sauce and delivered via churrasqueiro.
By definition 'cabana' means 'indigenous hut', but this two storey restaurant is anything but. The grand space is adorned with bold Brazillian imported fly posters, upcycled furniture, neon lights and even the odd Subbeteo table.
Founded by entrepreneur pals, Jamie Barber and Rio-born David Ponte, Cabana Brasil has promised to keep the party atmosphere thriving as the Corn Exchange begins to take shape.
