LOVERS can have a sticky start to Valentine's Day with a limited edition jam available from Manchester manufacturer Duerr's, fruit preservers since 1981.

The jam contains strawberries, champagne and a sprinkling of an extra-special ingredient – horny goat weed. (Are they making this up? Ed). The latter is apparently a Chinese herb that is a natural male sexual stimulant.
The publicity team at Duerr's have got very excited about the product, and had long afternoon meetings coming up with sentences such as: 'Recommended serving suggestions for this saucy spread are: a ‘do not disturb’ sign; a 45 minutes ‘lie-in’; and sending the kids to your parents.'
Er...right.
Fifth generation Duerr’s scion Richard Duerr joined in the fun saying, "We’re well known for preserving tradition through our recipes; however until now little has been known about our dedication to preserving romance. We suggest you spread the love liberally on toast for a very horny goat weed Valentines."
