McGoff aims to launch project in Spring 2019
The construction group behind Urmston’s proposed new market hall have submitted a detailed planning application for M41 - a £3.5m development they hope will 'further enhance the town's food-led resurgence'.
With outline planning approved, work has already begun on phase one of the project, which will see a new build market hall containing a dozen food and drink operators positioned around an informal central seating area of up to 180 covers.
The McGoff Group say there will be a 'strong focus on independent producers from across the region' which can bring 'something different to the local community and attract revenue from outside Urmston'.
Plans also include children’s play areas, a private dining area, a co-work hub, a mezzanine level with additional seating and space for pop-up stalls and events.
Bosses say the design for M41 is 'sympathetic to the locality' and reflects the architecture of existing buildings along Railway Road and Greenfield Avenue.
Chris McGoff, director at the McGoff Group, says: “Anticipation is already mounting in Urmston for the new food market hall, with lots of interest from locals in terms of timings and enquiries from potential operators, which is great to see so early on.
“We want M41 to reflect Urmston’s vibrancy and increasing desirability as a great place to live, work and play, and have worked closely with the local community to establish their views and understand their feedback regarding the concept, building design and product offering.
“The proposed plans for M41 are exceptional with every detail carefully considered, including indoor and outdoor children’s play areas, private dining, a mezzanine level with additional seating, space for pop-up stalls and staging events, as well as a dedicated co-work hub with free wifi to name just a few.
"We really have invested significantly in M41 as it will be the first and pioneering new build food market hall in the North West, with Urmston the perfect location for the development.”
Subject to planning, McGoff hopes to launch M14 in Spring 2019.
