Living Room involved in motorbike drive-by for second time in three years
Popular Deansgate bar The Living Room has been targeted in another drive-by shooting, three years after the venue was hit by a similar attack.
The incident took place at around 10.15pm on Wednesday 3 May, when gunmen on a motorbike opened fire on the venue which was hosting a charity event for The Christie Hospital, before fleeing the scene.
Reports say attendees dived for cover as the shots - between three and five - peppered the front entrance, smashing glass and sending guests scrambling for the back exit.
Nobody was hurt, though one man is understood to have suffered injuries as he took cover.
Police carrying guns are reported to have arrived in cars just minutes later, before giving chase.
Former world boxing champion Ricky Hatton was reportedly inside the bar when the shooting took place, having donated some memorabilia to the fundraiser. His agent said Hatton was upstairs when the bullets were fired.
A section of Deansgate cordoned off by Crime Scene Investigators throughout the night has now been fully opened to traffic, though officers remain on the scene.
Police are asking that anyone with information should call them on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
