From pirozhki to pasties, guests can dine around the world in 90 minutes
Manchester, May 2018 - There’s nothing better than having a special menu for a special tournament and Cafe Football’s limited edition World Cup offering is sure to go hand-in-hand with the occasion.
Cafe Football has devised a delicious menu for the duration of this year’s World Cup tournament, paying homage to England’s trusted fare, the host’s unusual cuisine, as well as other dishes inspired by the participating nations.
Diners can start with a homage to the hosts, with ‘Pirozhki’ beef and cheese-stuffed buns, served with garlic mayo and mixed leaf salad (£6) - the buns originate from Russia and are ideal to kick off a meal.
Move a little closer to home for the main course with the ‘Great English Breakfast – in a bun. A true patriotic all-day treat which brings together a Cumberland sausage meat patty, grilled flat mushroom and tomato, fried egg, smoked applewood cheddar and baked beans, complete with a side portion of fat cut chips (£12).
Finish strong with a break from the usual Cafe Football dessert offering, with the ‘Banana Kick’ - banana and mini jam ball skewers, chocolate sauce and whipped cream (£6).
Larger groups of eight or more can ‘Tackle the Tower’ and enjoy two eight-pint Carlsberg beer towers with four team pizzas. Guests can choose from Margherita or Pepperoni pizza for just £12.50 per head, or take on the ‘Around the World in 90 minutes’ platter (see main image). The platter is a culinary world tour of fried Spanish tortillas, Cajun spiced potato waffles, nachos, chicken Kiev balls, vegetable Cornish pasties, Jack Daniels BBQ ribs and fish goujons (£10 per head, minimum 2 people).
The limited-edition menu is available at Cafe Football Old Trafford, National Football Museum and Stratford for the duration of the tournament.
