LEEDS has one, Liverpool has one, and if bloody Blackpool has one, we want one too.
In true Bavarian style, Bierkeller offers traditional steins and a menu of typical German food
The city has been crying out for a beer hall for what seems like forever, and where better to put it than The Printworks. Bierkeller has taken the place of Pure – anyone who went there in its nightclub days knows that it's a good size. Which is just as well considering the whole of Manchester flocked to the opening party last Thursday.
There's four bars in Bierkeller so there was plenty of room for the 1000-plus guests. Live bands, lots of beer and chicken wings which blew your head off made for a great night with everyone on top form, particularly those brave (mad) girls on stilts.
In true Bavarian style, Bierkeller offers traditional steins and a menu of typical German food. Think chicken schnitzels and bratwursts, served by fräuleins in dirndl dresses.
There's also beers from every continent in the 80 Beers Around The World bar, a leather-seated, spacious sports bar, and a ski-style bar serving fondues and gluhwein.
We were particularly interested in the option to hire the Flensburger tabletop keggie which lets you help yourself to a tap of 22 pints.
Can't get to Oktober fest? Head down to Bierkeller for a bit of fun and a whole lot of beer. And if sauerkraut ain't your bag, grab a chippy on the way home.
