AS IF Manchester wasn’t already being spoiled of late with an incursion of quality Iberian eateries, Spanish restaurant Ibérica will host one of the country’s most prolific chefs for its first ever Nacho & Friends event on Tuesday 17 May.

The eagerly-anticipated meal will take place on Tuesday 17 May and costs £60

Extremaduran chef Quique Dacosta, famed for his ‘techno-emotional Spanish cuisine’, boasts three Michelin stars for his eponymous restaurant in Dénia - named 39th in the Top 100 Restaurants in the world - as well as another for El Poblet in Valencia’s historic centre.

Nope, we haven't the foggiest what ‘techno-emotional’ means either, but he’s clearly doing something right...

Dacosta will join Ibérica’s Executive Chef (and Spanish MasterChef star) Nacho Manzano - himself owner of three Michelin accolades across his Asturian restaurants Casa Marcial and La Salgar - to create a casual tapas menu, comprising seven courses served with paired wines.

Manzano’s menu will include: sea urchins served with cream, aromatic spices and yoghurt; soft shell crab; hake salad with hollandaise sauce and dried eggs; and roasted apple with rosemary cream and cloud of cider.

Dacosta’s menu, meanwhile, will consist of: ashes rice (from El Poblet), crushed tomatoes (from Quique Dacosta) and lemon fish (from his casual dining restaurant Vuelve Carolina).

The eagerly-anticipated meal will take place on Tuesday 17 May and costs £60, including seven courses and paired wines.
