THERE’S a meal for four complete with drinks up for grabs at the new-look Rosso restaurant and bar, recently given a stunning revamp. Since opening in 2011, Rosso has cemented its reputation as a go-to dining spot for superb Italian cuisine in glamorous surroundings.

What’s more, Rosso has just been announced as the proud recipient of the gong for Manchester’s Best Premium Restaurant in the EatDrinkSleep Awards 2017.
And you can be sure that your party will be treated like VIPs from the moment they step into the lavish 116-year-old Grade II-listed dining room, topped by a beautiful glass dome. It’s the perfect setting to dig into the extensive à la carte menu. There’s plenty of choice, from Italian staples such as pizza and pasta, grilled dishes, a large selection of steaks, and freshly prepared pesce.
The Bianca pizza combines three cheeses – mozzarella, provolone, taleggio – with oregano, or perhaps you fancy the Lunette al Tartufo – pasta parcels filled with black truffle and parmesan and cooked in sage butter. Seafood fans might be tempted by the Coda di Rospo, roasted monkfish tail with squid ink risotto and sea herbs, or the half or full fresh lobster. Meat eater? There are some tasty veal dishes, including Schnitzel-style Vitella alla Milanese, or pan-seared venison with a port wine jus and celeriac fondant.
Rosso’s cuts are supplied from local, dedicated butchers and grilled to your liking over charcoal, including chicken, lamb cutlets and a range of steaks. Pick from fillet (tenderloin), T-bone (porterhouse), sirloin (striploin or entrecote), ribeye (delmonico) and Chateaubriand, all accompanied with a freshly made sauce of your choice.
Choice isn’t short in demand on the dolci menu either, with Italian favourites like tiramisu made fresh by the pastry section every day and gelato, from ice creams to sorbets. Other delicious desserts include pistachio and dark chocolate cheesecake and frangipani tart with clotted cream.
