Snacks and Small Plates
Rendang Roti Bites
Beef rendang has previously been a popular choice on the Tampopo menu and now it's back in moreish miniature format. The slow-cooked meat is tender and tasty whilst the Malaysian salad which sits atop each mouthful, made up of cucumber, pineapple and chilli, adds a refreshing finish to the lightly spicy dish.
Thai Hot and Sour Soup
Another dish which used to be a mainstay of the menu, the tom yam soup, has returned to the menu in starter-sized portions. The prawn and vermicelli noodle version is all new with a punchy lime flavour which brings the spicy broth alive.
Vietnamese Spring Rolls
Never has the name of a dish been more appropriate for the lighter nights and sunnier days which are just around the corner. The staple of Chinese restaurants seems clunky in comparison with the delicacy of these lightly fried vegetable and vermicelli rolls. Parcel them up in lettuce and basil, dollop on some of the hoisin and peanut dip and tuck in.
Main Dishes
Thai Beef Massaman Curry
A cross between a comforting stew and a creamy curry, the beef massaman is packed with unctuous, meltingly-soft beef, potato and a rich taste of the exotic which comes from the coconut and the secret ingredient suggested by one of Tampopo's regulars – pssst – it's peanut butter.
Chilli Ramen Soup
The Japanese ramen is always a popular choice on the Tampopo menu with its clean fresh flavours. There's now a delectable chilli version for those who like to walk on the wild side. Lime, chillies and red onion give a real punch to the wholesome soup.
Singaporean Laksa
Full of fire, full of flavour and packed full of ingredients, the laksa is everything you could want from a meal. Massive juicy prawns, slurpable noodles, fragrant herbs, tender chicken, squid and mussels – what more to life is there? No wonder it's a classic.
Japanese Katsu Curry
Everyone loves a katsu curry – the unmistakeable flavour of the sauce and the succulent chicken, paired with the panko breadcrumb crunch, is always a winner. Unless, of course, you don't eat meat. But now, thanks to Tampopo, vegetarians can enjoy the pleasures of katsu with a delicious new sweet potato version of this hit curry.
As well as Tampopo's tempting menu, don't miss the virgin cocktails on the drinks menu. The apple and elderflower lemonade is as fresh as a summer meadow. Stuff your Pimm's – this is the drink of summer. The pink lemonade is a minty delight, like a mojito without the naughtiness whilst the virgin popsicle will take you back to summer holidays with balmy nights and beachside bars.
