IF YOU think there aren’t any decent brunch spots around Deansgate, you’d be wrong. Very wrong. With that morning meal betwixt breakfast and lunch suddenly all the rage, ever more restaurants are jumping on the brunch bandwagon, most notably in the Northern Quarter. Yet there’s one venue, just opposite the Hilton Hotel, that’s been quietly serving up quality breakfast & brunch in Deansgate for months - over a year, in fact.

Per Tutti’s is a bruschetta that means business

Yes, while best known for its fresh Mediterranean lunches and dinners, Per Tutti also has a superb morning menu that’s available until midday from 8am Monday to Saturday and 9.30am on Sundays - because, after all, who wants to get up before then on the Day of Rest.

From flaky buttered croissants to the full English and everything in between, Per Tutti has mornings covered. Plus, there’s free Wi-Fi and a fantastic selection of coffees (including free refills on filter coffee); perfect for relaxing with the day’s newspapers or getting together for a business meeting with colleagues.

Here’s our pick of what’s on offer:

Drinks

Bulletproof Coffee Coconut Oil Blitz

Whilst this may sound like some newfangled spa treatment, it’s actually a simple yet inventive take on your typical latte, which replaces milk with coconut oil. Flat? No siree, if anything it’s actually frothier than most - and perfect for those trying to limit their dairy intake.

Latte

What with our effervescent coffee culture, it can be hard these days to find coffee that stands out. Per Tutti’s, however, does just that. Served in a tall glass, with an Amaretti biscuit on the side, it happily tastes as good as it looks.

Food

Bacon Butty

What would a breakfast & brunch menu be without a bacon butty? Using premium cuts from Frost’s in Chorlton, enclosed in white bread generously slathered with melted butter, this is exactly how a bacon sarnie should be. They have a sausage version too...

Spiced Beans on Toast

Beans on toast, scattered with diced red onion and pepper, then seasoned with chopped chilli and some cracked black pepper? Ingenious. This isn’t too spicy but gives the conventional Heinz dish a welcome kick up the backside.

Poached Eggs on Toast

Simple yet satisfying: Severn and Wye smoked salmon, soft poached eggs and a sprinkling of cracked pepper.

Grilled Mackerel Bruschetta

A great way to get in your protein, this dish tops the classic Italian appetiser with freshly-caught mackerel. A chunk of rosemary foccacia with diced plum tomatoes and red onion, drizzled with olive oil, Per Tutti’s is a bruschetta that means business.

Crispy Breaded Avocado Soldiers

Another twist on the traditional, this dish takes the ‘boiled egg and soldiers’ favourite and replaces the toast with fresh avocado. Ok, it’s breaded and deep-fried...but it is a vegetable right? Plus these avocado fighters are impossibly delicious - particularly when dipped in a runny egg.

Greek Yoghurt with Quinoa

Quinoa is often served savoury but did you know it’s actually a cereal? We didn’t either, until our chat with Per Tutti’s knowledgeable chef. A great alternative to granola, the grain is mixed with a spot of honey and lemon before being served up with fresh melon, blueberries and a pot of natural Greek yoghurt.
