BUSABA brings a taste of modern Bangkok to Manchester. Just as Bangkok is a huge and sprawling city, the menu at Busaba might seem overwhelming to the uninitiated.

Add a splash of fish sauce and you've got Thailand on a plate

Don't worry if you don't know your por-pia jay from your pandan chicken, Confidential have selected Busaba's best dishes so you can just tuck in and enjoy.

Small Plates

Thai Calamari

It's no wonder that Busaba is renowned for its Thai calamari. The squid has a unique glaze and the criss-cross scoring means the flavours of ginger and green peppercorns really penetrate. Unmissable.

Fish Cakes

Bite into one of Busaba's fish cakes and the fiery colour shows these are anything but insipid. Vivid, bright and flecked with herbs and spring onion, Busaba's fish cakes are already one of the most popular items on the menu. The accompanying cucumber and peanut relish adds a sweetness and a sourness that is the perfect match.

Pandan Chicken

These are quite a looker - exotic little parcels of tender chicken, all wrapped up in pandan leaves. The sesame seeds add a more interesting dimension to the savoury note of soy.

Main Dishes

Classic Pad Thai

Busaba specialises in Pad Thai. This classic dish, a mix of rice noodles, king prawns, dried shrimp, tofu, egg and beansprouts, topped off with peanuts for crunch and texture, tastes fresh, clean and healthy. Add a splash of fish sauce and you've got Thailand on a plate. Busaba also serve a number of alternatives to the classic including Sen Chan Pad Thai which replaces the tofu and shrimp with mango and crab or Pad Thai Jay, packed with tasty fresh vegetables.

Green Chicken Curry

Another classic, this dish is a poster boy of Thai cooking with its seductive mix of hot, sweet, spicy and savoury tastes. The rich green colour is inviting – a visual representation of the fragrant flavours within – and the pea aubergines, with their authentic bitter tang transport you instantly to Asia.

Steamed Sea Bass

Part of Busaba's 'Modern Bangkok' offering, the whole steamed sea bass takes traditional Thai flavours and adds a more cosmopolitan edge. There's a real zing from the chilli, coriander, basil and lime and the fish was perfectly cooked. A real Confidential favourite.
