SO what have been the top twenty food and drink reviews in terms of reads on Manchester Confidential in 2013? Strangely enough a casual dining eaterie leads the way. Well no surprise really, when that casual dining venue comes from the Almost Famous stable.
Second and third in the popularity of reads stakes (or maybe steaks) were the two big posh openings, The French and Manchester House, and then to bring us down to earth it's our review of the year's most disgusting food Pizza Hut's Cheeseburger Crust Burger.
What a beautifully bizarre and unpredictable top four. The rest of the top twenty is pretty crazy too including a fancy takeaway, a pop-up fake pizzeria, a pub in Rochdale and an alcohol-free Indian in Ashton.
Let's hope 2014 delivers equal variety, although it may well be short of an Aiden Byrne or Simon Rogan arrival.
Or will it?
There are a strong stories of other 'name' chefs moving in early in the year.
What is certain is we've never had it so good in Manchester. Let's enjoy.
